Pilates is one of the most effective comprehensive conditioning methods that helps to develop and strengthen your muscles. It improves strength, flexibility, balance, stance and coordination, and is used as a form of physiotherapy. Its advantage lies in the fact that it can be practised by all age groups, no matter the physical fitness. It also improves abilities in all other sports and makes your everyday tasks easier.
During a pilates class, you stimulate each muscle, tendon and organ in your body, thus enabling the relaxed feeling and improved muscle tone. We devote most of the class to the spine to which we bring back its natural flexibility, relax the nerves and strengthen the surrounding muscles.
By using different props, we break apart the existing movement pattern and activate muscles which are usually not in use. With an additional mild resistance, we strengthen other supporting muscles, while the maintaining of balance requires the activation of many deep stabilizer muscles. The goal is to “awaken” and activate those muscles to avoid the usual knee, ankle, shoulder or back injuries.
The style of dance that combines the basis of classical ballet, jazz and contemporary dance, but maintains its autonomy among them. The class is recreational. In the beginning of each class, we warm up the whole body using different basic ballet techniques, the Horton technique, various isolation and strength exercises, and of course, active body stretching exercises.
In the second part of the class, we work on a choreography based on different styles, while the dance routine is performed using the emotion and interpretation of the song through movement, face expression and general emotion set in the choreography theme.
The aim of the class is to move, enjoy the moment and dance, get rid of the negative energy. It is appropriate for all age groups, regardless of previous knowledge.
As its name suggests, this is a higher-intensity class. Besides using a combination of different contemporary dance techniques, we put significant emphasis on the strength, statics, fitness and especially, technique.
It consists of several phases:
In the first phase, we warm up the body through exercises based on ballet, but also combine them with contemporary dance techniques and jazz. This is the part of the class when we focus on the dance technique.
The second phase focuses on the strength, statics and fitness. Through a combination of exercises, we elevate your heart rate and strengthen your core. By combining the Nikolais, release, Graham and other contemporary techniques, we move on to floorwork and work on the space focusing on fluidity and continuity.
The last phase is a short sequence that combines all that was learned. At the same time, we bring awareness to coordination and the position of the body in space. The class ends with stretching and calming the body.
As its name suggests (High Intensity Interval Training), this form of training combines high intensity training intervals (such as sprinting) with low intensity intervals (such as slow walking) or a complete rest. This type of training gives better results in a shorter amount of time.
HIIT is better in burning body fat than a usual cardio training because it extends the resting time of the metabolism after the HIIT training, which continues to “work” even when you are resting, thereby burning fat.
The class consists of a warm-up appropriate to the type of HIIT intended for that class, the HIIT part of the class, and finally, stretching exercises and bringing your metabolism in the usual state.
We use different types of HIIT training: the basic bodyweight training, using smaller weights, plates, sliders, benches, chairs etc.
The advantage is fat burning thanks to your metabolism working even while resting, and the enzymes burning the fat, while also building muscle mass. All that in the shortest amount of time.
Power yoga is one of yoga styles closely connected to the classic, ashanta yoga style. The exercises are based on the vinyasa practice that entered many gyms and fitness centres because it enables the so-called movement flow. Such flow includes continuous movements from one position into another, thus improving the metabolism, helping in building a functional musculature and a healthy body.
It is recommended for weight loss, decreasing cholesterol and blood pressure levels, improving flexibility and strength, building a great muscle tone and developing an overall fitness. Thanks to breathing and movement coordination, your focus is also improved, you feel calmer and your biggest enemy – stress – simply disappears.
This type of training is recommended to everybody, regardless of age and previous experience.
REHAB YOGA has its foundation in setting the correct postures to correct and rehabilitate the wrong patterns of movement and posture.
Given that in our studio we generally appeal to the importance of proper movement as well as body mobility, by which we want to achieve “optimal body” for each individual, this program is a great addition and choice to all other programs we maintain.
Proper biomechanics and correction of wrong learned patterns of posture and movement, along with breathing and relaxation techniques make this program a great and almost therapeutic choice.
The birth of modern dance technique started at the beginning of the 20th century. It has a base in ballet, but it allows a wider range of movement and interpretation.
Since there are various modern dance techniques, this program is created so it takes from many of those techniques for the classes.
The class begins with a warm up routine for the whole body, and it develops to small or big dance phrases through space.
This program is useful for the general motoric development of the body, to work on strength and flexibility, and on musicality.
The class is created for dancers who are on the middle level or higher, however there are always modification options for beginners.
